The Highlands Historical Museum contains displays on "A Woman's Life in Highlands," Historic Houses in Highlands, Rustic Log Cabin Builder Joe Webb, Moonshining in the mountains of North Georgia and Western North Carolina, Family Genealogies and Diaries, Books by Highlanders or about Highlands, Photographs of Highlands scenes, people, and homes by John Bundy, R. Henry Scadin, George Masa, etc., Education and Religion in Highlands, Grand-Slam Golfer Bobby Jones, Educator and Botanist Thomas G. Harbison, Mary Lapham's TB Sanitorium, Charts Depicting the History of Businesses and Homes on Main and Fourth Streets, and historic maps of Highlands and its surroundings.
The Highlands Archives contain over 3,000 original documents, maps, photographs, newspapers, and artifacts, currently being catalogued and digitized in PastPerfect museum collection management software. These are accessible to the public via computer and microfilm reader.
